Here are some photos from David's trip to Grand Junction, CO and Moab, UT for a research project.  The photos are from some free time, not the research.

Above is Main St. in Grand Junction, CO.  There has been a lot of development, including an art project that places new sculptures every year in the Main St. corridor.  Some of the sculptures follow.

Above is a view from a road in Grand Junction.  Barren, but beautiful!

We (David and friend Aaron) finished our work early, and drove to Moab, UT to bike the famous Slickrock Trail.  We started on the trail about 1 p.m. on July 25, 2001 -- not the coolest time in the desert!   But we were prepared with plenty of water and the resolve to turn around when the water got low.

On the way back from Moab we took the scenic route along the Colorado.
